Blood Drive Lunch Recruiters

We need NHS members to recruit blood drive donors at lunch! If you want to enthusiastically recruit students to donate and save lives, please please PLEASE sign up. We need volunteers to do lunch recruiting every day leading up to the blood drive on November 9. Here is the SignUpGenius link.

You must sign up by 9 PM the night before you volunteer at lunch. This means that if you sign up for one of the lunches tomorrow, you MUST sign up by 9 PM tonight in order for you to have the spreadsheet shared with you to record information for donors.

If you are sick the day of you signed up to recruit, delete your sign up if there is someone signed up to recruit with you. If you are the only person recruiting at your table, please contact and ask another NHS member to substitute for you that day.

An overview of what lunch recruiters do:
-Actively try to recruit students to donate blood
-Record the information of students who agree to donate
-Ensure the student/donor knows the deadline for returning signed permission forms (October 31)
*There are instructions on the table where you volunteer. I will be helping set up the A lunch volunteers and monitoring B lunch. Please ask me any questions you have!

Let’s make this blood drive exceptional!

Socktober!

October is the month of Socktober! This is a really fun, simple, and effective sock drive that NHS organizes.

Simply drop off pairs of new socks in Mrs. Dignan’s room (room 105) and write down your information to get hours! Each pair of socks is 10 minutes, and if you donate at least 12 pairs of socks it also counts as an NHS sponsored event.

NHS donates these socks to local homeless shelters as a partnership with Breaking Cycles. Socks are the most needed but least donated item of clothing across the country; we want to prove that even the smallest acts can have some of the biggest impacts.

We have a goal of donating 600 pairs of socks, so donate as much as you can and tell your friends about Socktober!
